Born ‘Saloth Sâr’ in 1925, communist revolutionary Pol Pot would go on to rule Cambodia as the General Secretary of the Communist Party for almost 20 years. A period of rule noted for it’s brutality including the Cambodian genocide in which 1.5 to 2 million people were killed.
