WWI: How Hitler Lied To Get Into The German Army | Doomsday | War Stories

When WWI began in 1914 there was a frenzy of men signing up to fight. Among them was a young Adolf Hitler, who claimed years later to have been given specific permission to join the Bavarian Army by the Bavarian King himself, owing to his Austrian heritage. This would be one of many lies he would come to tell in his propaganda campaigns of WWII.

The First World War is one of the most deadly conflicts in history. A new automated era of fighting brings death en-masse for the first time in history. It shapes the future not only of Europe’s citizens, but also its leaders, and those that would repeat history in the years to come.
