What Life Was Like In Pompeii During Ancient Rome’s Glory Days | Lost Treasures | Timeline

0:00:03 – This traces the history of Pompeii, the seaside city which was buried beneath a mountain of volcanic ash following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 78 AD. Pompeii – along with 2000 of its entombed citizens – was rediscovered in 1748, and computer animated graphics are used here to recreate it in all its glory.

0:24:56 – This combines computer animated sequences and 3D graphics with period iamgery and modern location footage to recreate the splendour of ancient Rome. Famous sites revisited include the Forum, where matters of state were decided, and the Colosseum, centre of gladiatorial contests and public entertainment.
