Operation Torch: The Decisive Invasion That Turned The Tide In North Africa

In November 1942, the Allies launched an invasion of North Africa. American and British forces landed at Casablanca, Oran, and Algiers, securing key positions and pushing eastward to trap Rommel’s Afrika Korps. Despite Vichy French resistance, the Allies succeeded, cutting Axis supply lines and gaining a foothold in the Mediterranean. Harsh winter conditions in Tunisia slowed progress, but the campaign set the stage for future victories.
