Let’s get together with Lead & Steel, a newer manufacturer to the scene, to discuss the design, technicalities and manufacturing of modern firearms optics – red dots, LPVOs, magnifiers, eye relief, focal planes and more!

The new microprism are smaller and lighter then I ever thought possible for magnified optics, is there a theoretical lower bound for how small an optic of a given magnification can be?

Eamon B
Do you think that handguns without have become obsolescent?

Chris G
What set up do you find yourself gravitating towards in the never ending prism vs lpvo vs red dot and magnifier debate

Robin V
What will be the next big leap in technology? Maybe Thermal overlays or target identification?

DodgeThis27
As someone who recently (whilst searching for a red dot) found out that they have astigmatism, is there any possibility of a prismatic sight for slide mounted pistols?

Teddy
What goes into reducing parallax in modern red dot optics?

Windwalker57
Using scopes with impaired vision: wear glasses, or remove glasses and focus scope accordingly?

Ryan
How long until my glasses or goggles have a cool heads up display/reticle built in that I can sync to a firearm?

alex
If using a red dot in combination with a 3x magnifier on a QD mount, would removing the magnifier to use as an impromptu monocular (say to visually assess targets during a stage brief at a match) affect your zero in any way?

What are the challenges in designing and manufacturing that maintain a seal (and thus no internal fogging) under repeated shock from the firing?

FMJ
The highschool physics I learned would tell me that the scope must create an image plane, either virtual or real. Where is this plane? How does it get there? My guess is between the scope and the shooter’s eye but I can’t do the math anymore
