In this Q&A we discuss a number of questions about night vision, lessons learned from Midnight Brutality, Red Lobster and a lil’ old west stuff too.

48 Henry S – What was the most cursed night fighting setup you saw?
32. G3yost – Are your eyes fried like tuna steaks when hit with a "normal" intensity light while wearing NVG’s?
18 Chris S – Did you learn anything surprisingly unexpected from the night time brutality shooting? I.e. new techniques or problems no one expected.
20 Jane B – Have you found any unusual or unexpected uses or perks of NV outside of a context?
09 McKuuurds – I noticed in your OPSIN video that when switching between ambient light amplification and IR illumination the video would switch to what I’m guessing is the IR sensor and only illuminate the flood from the IR light and would crush everything else in black. How did this affect your decisions for the stages?
28 Dalbunosky – How good were the flash hiders at hiding flash?
33 PHILLIP DOUBLE U – Thoughts on M1 Garand safety? Why don’t more firearms use it?
36 Matt C – How important is optical clarity when white light at distance? At Midnight Brutality I noticed I could often see the target with the naked eye, but it was much more difficult through the optic.
01 Windwalker57 – Have you ever considered incorporating parachute flares in a stage?
24 Knathaniel C – I’ve been enjoying the mini series about old west CCW guns. I have a question about early cartridge pocket revolvers: is the suicide/Saturday night special a myth?
06 HiRoAZ – Is an IR laser essential? It seems lining up might be difficult.
49 Rory – So I found out my Olight wasn’t up to the job. What light was the best for reaching the ranges on Stage 6?
07 Wayne I – What was the coolest "budget" setup (OPSIN price range or lower) you saw at Midnight Brutality?
59 G Stump – What effect does with NVG have on shooting fundamentals and the ability to build stable positions?
48 Phaze – Which is less representative of reality; the "ffft" sound of silencers in movies, or the whine of NVGs powering on in movies?
30 Nick S – Is a PVS-7 even worth my consideration or should I start saving for a PVS-14 or even a binocular setup?
06 Ryan -Back in the Wild West days what was the Native American equivalent to a federal soldier’s rations or supply chain for that matter?
23 eRahja – How useful are tritium night and have you ever tried them?
21 Josh W – Not night vision related, but I am curious about the Inrange FB page sharing Red Lobster posts?
32 Zack Z – I was running a white phos PVS14 with a Mawl at the match. Why was I having so much trouble seeing the targets? Specifically on the Kasarda drill and stage 6. Was I using to much IR and flushing everything out? I could see the targets well on the walk throughs, just not well with my setup on the clock.
