Review :

I purchased this saw back in 2013 and that means that this is a long term review. Almost 10 years of use and I’ll tell you this, this is a fantastic tool!

Even after all of these years, it continues to be an excellent tool. Highly efficient, very sharp, very strong, great quality.

Pros :

Legendary quality

Rubbery Handle offers excellent grip. The Bahco Laplander’s handle is made of a hard plastic with a rubber over-mold. It’s very grippy, and the palm swell towards the butt of the saw makes it very comfortable to grip.

Leather lanyard allows for easy hanging of the tool in your camp.

Blade locks into place – both open and closed

Blade tension can be adjusted – a friend of mine runs his so loose that he can flick it open while pushing in the lock.

Teeth are extremely sharp and have stayed sharp after almost 10 years of use. Cuts on the push and pull

Very versatile tool, I’ve used it around the house, I’ve used it for trips, I use it for backpacking and adventures.

Cuts through everything that I have ever wanted to cut through including black locust. Dry wood, green, etc.

Weight is a huge plus for this tool; namely because it is so light weight. It’s what I call perfect. Light enough to throw into your pocket or pack and yet heavy enough to feel solid. To put weight into perspective, I have simple multitools which weigh much more than this.

Compact

Replaceable blades is a pro but they are expensive and it looks to take a substantial amount of time to receive them if ordered. From what I have seen online, it looks like they come from outside of the country.

With the 7” blade, it is an ideal tool for 4 inch logs and saplings. You can process larger but you’re really pushing the limits of the blade size. For anything larger, that’s when I would move to a bow saw.

Durability; durability of the teeth isn’t an issue at all and I haven’t babied it. Handle has held up extremely well.

Laplander’s handles are grippy – rubberized and stays in the hand.

Leather lanyard is appreciated and it too has held up well.

Cons :
To be honest, I don’t have any cons to mention with the tool itself. It is simply a top notch product that I can’t recommend enough. The price is good, the value is great, the size is great, its sharp, tough, comfortable to use,
