Microwave ovens are NOT an effective Faraday container
We frequently see people recommending microwave ovens for Faraday containers. The door seals "leak" and make microwaves ineffective for blocking most frequencies.
A better option is to wrap your devices in aluminum foil, seal the seal with aluminum duct tape, then put them in something that can’t ground like a plastic container.
The goal is to aim for -120dB as a minimum level of protection. Each layer of aluminum foil provides approx -85dB of suppression. A couple layers is more than sufficient. If it’s not sufficient it means you were at ground zero and are incinerated anyway.
