BATTLE OF NAJAF – 20th Anniversary Reunion

In August of 2004, the Marines and Sailors of 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, fought against the Mahdi in the Najaf Cemetery. The Cemetery is a 1000+ years old and made for one of the most intense fights of the entire Iraq War. 20 years later the Marines and Sailors of 1/4 reunite and honor their fallen by hiking to the 1st Marine Regiment Memorial that overlooks Camp Horno, on Camp Pendleton.

BIG Thanks to @LegacyMilitaryReunions for helping us put this all together. Please consider donatining to help them help other units put together future reunions. Legacy is an official 501(c)(3).

Also BIG thanks to Lucian Reed, who as a photographer risked his life embedded with 1/4 in 2004 during this fight. Most of the photos from that battle such as many of the ones seen in this video were captured by him. His photography has preserved our units legacy in Marine Corps history. https://www..com/watch?v=-4oygEeFjng

Lastly I want to thank all of those who contributed with donations to help us fund this event. without YOU this all would not have been possible!
