Winter Bushcraft – Wall of Fire – Surviving Freezing Cold
#bushcraft #camping #survival
Out in snow and ice for some hiking and bushcraft. Been waiting for cold enough weather to try this idea of a long fire. A bit hard to get going but got there eventually. It was so warm I had to move back a bit. First time ever I opened up the sleeping bag in 20 below because I was too hot. Second night I slept out on the ice. Flat ground is heaven for me in this area but when the wind picked up at 5 am I had to get going. It was too cold.
I present my sleep system in this video. Other than that I have a Norwegian mountain pack, biltema pot, ACME cold handle pan, Hultafors Åby axe, Mora Garberg knife, Trangia triangle, Trangia lantern no 83, Lundhags boots, Fjällräven anorak, Hestra work gloves, aklima liners, Bahco sawblade for my bucksaw, light my fire army 2.0 fire steel. Note that the reflective windscreen cover needs to be placed on top of the sleeping pad, directly under the sleeping bag. When I set up the sleep system it looks like I placed it under the sleeping pad. It was just temporary because the wind tried to blow it away when I shot the scene.
Thanks for watching!
