Solo Bushcraft Trip – Bunker Tent – One Hour Kuksa – Northern Wilderness Hike
Out for three days bushcrafting. Forgot my coffee cup at home so had to improvise! Luckily I had some greenwood with me and the planned spoon carving became coffee cup carving. I thought about drinking directly from the pot but.. nah its like a religious ceremony you got to get it right lol.
Its not everyday I use modern tents. Benefit is it shields you from breathing cold moist air in the night. But I don’t see this as being standard for me ever.. condensation is hard to control and things break. First time using it one tent peg hit a rock and broke, one line mysteriously had some damage on it without me seeing it having friction on anything. And a forest mouse climbed the wall and made a hole in the mosquito net at the top ventilation trying to get in. One use in normal conditions and you need to do repairs. In 10 years I have used ONE canvas lavvu and had ZERO damage happen. Marinate on that.
Very nice though with some negative degrees and a wonderful moose steak. Enjoy!
